Audiobooks are Awesome!I know what you're thinking. Audiobooks are cheating. They should have to read the book, not listen to it. But why can't they do both? Audiobooks are my biggest success story this year with Little Moe. You see, LM is a great reader, he really has no problems. BUT - he hates to read. Being the lax mom that I am, he's come to appreciate the video game just slightly more than the book. Until this year when I decided that he could listen to the audiobook and follow along in the real book. OMG - seriously - this was the greatest idea I ever had when it comes to homeschooling. He's gone through 5 novels already, all good worthwhile novels like Call of the Wild and Where the Red Fern Grows and right now we are reading Tom Sawyer. And he's been able to appreciate them for the story, and the lessons, and the characters, and the plot because he wasn't worried about finishing. Now he's worried about finishing, if ya know what I mean. As in, "Awwwww...it's almost over!" I have a whole list of cool things that you can do to break up the same 'ol same 'ol if that is what you've been looking for. I get my audiobooks from a few different sources such as the ones below:
