![]() ![]() Christian Homeschooling Offers Tons of Excellent Curriculum Choices. If you are a new Christian homeschooling family, then by far you will have an easier time with curriculum choices than the secular families. That is because it was the Christian homeschoolers who took it upon themselves to create excellent alternative curriculum to the public school system. When you go through each specific subject section you should have no problem finding something that suites you and your belief system and that is why I will ask you now to be tolerant and accepting of those who believe differently than you. They do not have all these great choices and they struggle with this area in ways you might never imagine. It is important to encourage other homeschoolers regardless of what their reasons are for choosing home education. Christian homeschooling is the "mainstream" option in the homeschool world.
Imagine how you would feel if it were the other way around...(Hmmm I think they call that PUBLIC SCHOOL, right!) Put yourself back into the progressive-secular system for a moment and think of how angry it made you when your child was forced to learn things that contradicted your faith. Now I do realize that religious homeschooling does not FORCE anything on anybody, so the secular homeschoolers cannot make an equal argument, BUT they are trying to do what is best for their children. Be gracious and tolerant and try to help them with their choices, and try not to make them feel out of place for their beliefs. In the public school system we were separated into the religious and the non-religious all the time - but in the homeschool option we should all be homeschoolers together. It is no fun to constantly try and assert your beliefs on someone else (and that goes for both sides) and it wastes energy on negativity. So let's all respect and support each other so we can form a cohesive homeschool society. (OK...I know, a little...Kumbyah, but hey nothing wrong with that!)
