Free Homeschooling Online Brought to You By The Simple HomeschoolThat is what The Simple Zine is devoted EVERY single month!Don't forget - the Freebies below will all disappear on February 28th to be put up for sale in the Simple Store and make room for next month's Freebies - so TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS to come get 'em!You've probably noticed that all those free online homeschooling worksheets you thought were cool when you first started homeschooling are getting pretty stale.I mean, you can only give them so many cross word puzzles and word search worksheets before their eyes glaze over. And really, that kind of busy work wasn't what you signed up for when you started to homeschool. Times are tight though, so of course everyone wants to get some free stuff when they can, and that is why I am highlighting 6 unit studies whose bulk content came right out of the public domain. Public domain is awesome, but it does take time to put things together. All in all though, there is no comparison with what you can do with that type of free literature and art and those boring worksheets that you generate on any number of "free homeschooling" websites. Literature is the theme of this month's units and two of them, The Raven and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, have multi-media tie-ins. You and the kids are gonna love The Raven! And even the Legend of Sleepy Hollow is better when you combine reading with audiobooks! (Yes, I tell you where to get the free audiobook as well!) If you haven't visited our Literature section yet, go on over there and if you want some more literature ideas try out Best Childrens Books where you will find a whole slew of book reviews and tips about kids and reading. Right here at TSH you can also find elementary reading lists and upper grades reading lists that will give you some good ideas for keeping them interested in reading. And if you want to spice up your curriculum, go over to the fun ways to homeschool page and get some ideas. Enjoy your Simple Schooling Freebies, I added last month's freebies below as well - had like a 100 more people sign up and I wanted to give them a chance to catch up. Happy Homeschooling! DUH - do you know I woke up in the middle of the night and remembered that I forgot to put up the Public Domain links! ::Slap:: Try these on for size folks:
