You Must be Comfortable Performing Homeschool Research if You Want to Find Your Groove!

Homeschool Research? What?

Don't worry all it takes to find great resources is knowing which keywords to type into the search engines! You can type homeschool into Google all day long but you're never going to get a novel site. Why? Because those top search spots are dominated by what I like to call the "Homeschool Powerhouses".

You have most likely already read their long winded and flashy pages before hitting this piddley site, but no doubt they told you little in the way of content and they certainly didn't point you towards original educational sites that will help your kids.

Why not, you're probably asking.

Because those powerhouse homeschool sites are only there to make money off of advertisers, they aren't there to help you do homeschool research. Now there is ONE powerhouse site that I really like, and that is because they are smart and combine their advertising (which is necessary) with valuable content for their visitors. I won't tell you which one it is, but it has pretty schoolhouses on their magazine covers every quarter.

Other than that - those "general information" sites only exist to push their advertisers on you.

(They seem to aim them all at the frustrated mom who desperately wants her child away from those bad influences in high school for some reason. Hmm...do you think they rely on stress levels to sell products and make money??)

Anyway - back to homeschool research. SPECIFIC KEYWORDS will deliver you the goods every time. Try to use words like "Homeschool science curriculum" or "Simple Homeschool" to get the best results and you will avoid the top 10 advertising sites.

There is nothing more frustrating than typing in Homeschool Curriculum as a keyword and only getting the same old stuff - you've already been there - you read what they had to say (which wasn't much) and what you REALLY want is something NEW and DIFFERENT.

That's OK, I get it. I'm just like you, I like to take the road less traveled on my journey. Helps to avoid crowds.

Now, one more piece of advice on performing homeschool research, I know it is against your nature to look beyond the first 2 pages of search results, but TRY to resist typing in a new keyword until you've explored the first 4 pages at least! I have found so many COOL things on pages 4 or 5 you would not believe!
