Jump In Writing Will Give You The Tools to Show your Child How to Write Effectively!Jump In Writing came along at just the right time for us. We had let writing slack off for a while because I could never find a program that "fit". I knew as soon as I discovered the Jump In program that this was the one for us. This book will take your reluctant writer and show them step by itty bitty step how to get the business of writing down.
They will start by:
Then after a natural progression of assignments your child will put all the mechanics together, polish it up, and hand in a piece of work that is well planned, thoughtful, and carries weight. You'll be impressed. Of course they will need your help - I don't know if other people's kids can manage a self directed writing program, but my Little Moe can't. I help him brainstorm and come up with interesting sentences by reminding him of the tools the Jump In writing program provides. When he finished his first paper titled "Why Learning Japanese is Fun" I could see that he was proud of himself. The second paper was a book report on the "Call of the Wild" and he surprised me with a clever conclusion paragraph sentence that I didn't even help him with. The third paper was about why people should learn about dog breeds before they bring home a puppy and I can already see a level of sophistication that was not there a few months ago. Good writing, like pride, is contagious. We're only in the first stages of this text, but so far so good. We like it very much. Leave Jump In Writing and Go To Writing Strands
