Life Learners Classroom

by Jessica Leonard
(Queen Creek,AZ)

We live FT in our RV because we lost our home and instead of incurring more debt we voted as a family on what to do, bought a used rv and we haven't looked back! Right now we are parked but plan to travel next summer. We used to have an actual room... but now we work outside at the picnic table. or out in the field on a blanket when its nice out. What better classroom than the world as a back yard!In this picture we are all inside... and we were doing a science project that involved using condensed milk and food coloring as finger paints.

We are on our way too!
by: Anonymous

Hi Jessica,

I loved your picture. I am excited though to see more families RVing FT. Obviously I am sorry to hear about how you came to this, but excited that you found a way to do something positive in an unfortunate set of circumstances. We are actually choosing to RV FT soon because we just are so excited about it. My husband retires from the Army in 3.5 years. Our daughter will be 7.5 and we hope to have a toddler by then. We plan on buying an RV and full-timing at that point. We figured it was better to do this immediately after retiring from the military before we got stuck in a house with a house payment and tied down to a 9 to 5 job - if we could even get one. We also thought this would be a great way for us to learn how to simplify our life and depend on adventures instead of stuff to keep our children's life fun and educational. I would love to hear more about your adventures if you are willing to share. You can contact me at b t m underscore 2 3 at hotmail dot com. Thanks, Kateri Payne

Great Idea!
by: Kim

What an awesome idea! I know it has got to be hard at times, but to see the world and homeschool at the same time - your kids are getting to see at an early age what many may not ever experience in their whole life.
