Scouts and Such Can Be an Inexpensive Way To Supplement Your Program.
Boy and girl scouts and such groups can provide cheap and meaningful relationships and extracurricular activities for homeschool kids.
Don't forget about sports. Many states allow homeschoolers to join in the sports programs at public schools.
4H is another option, one that we take advantage of, and teaches kids to speak in public, run meetings according to procedure, raise cows, chickens, ducks, and rabbits!
Few people may know that the 4H general projects, or projects that don't involve animals, make up a huge portion of the exhibits at the fair every year. If this sounds interesting to you, contact your state extension office.
Personally, this year for Little Moe's projects we are doing:
- Breeding waterfowl
- Breeding poultry
- Breeding rabbits
- Shooting sports, and
- Art
In addition, there are a TON of things your little people can participate in for outside activities such as:
- Dance
- Music
- Art
- Horseback Riding
- Civil Air Patrol
- Church
- 4H
- Scouts
- Singing
- Pottery
The list is limited only by your imagination!
