If the Literature Based Method is Your Thing Then Sonlight History Curriculum Will Be A Favorite!

The Core program is VERY expensive however it does include the Instructor's Guide, History and Geography curriculum, and all the books necessary for the year, so it might actually be a deal if you were going to buy that stuff in pieces.

I've never used this history curriculum, but it's not because I am not drawn to it, I am and if I were the student, and not my Little Moe, the literature based method would suit me well, but unfortunately neither Little Moe nor Suzy Q had any interest in this much reading.

People rave about it though and it can be customized very easily to use for secular families, and that seems to be a huge selling point for the people I've talked to. The company goes out of their way to say that Bible is an optional subject, which I think is thoughtful. Many Christian publishers won't do that.

Another selling point is that they have ALL educational levels and they even have levels within levels so if your Little Moe is an advanced 2nd grader you can customize your CORE to accommodate his reading and comprehension ability. That's nice, no one wants to feel like things are moving too slow OR too fast.
