Teaching Textbooks Keeps Adding Levels and Keeps Getting Better!
Teaching Textbooks was light years ahead of its time and the result has been basically shock and awe!
The first time I heard of this program they only had homeschool algebra and higher and it was way out of my price range for Suzy Q.
But boy - if there was one thing I could do over it would be Suzy Q's math programs in Middle and High School.
It would most definitely be this program.
This is the first year I've actually used the program, 6th grade for my Little Moe,
and I'm not kidding you - math is now on the list of our "easy subjects" that can be done by himself when I am at work or out of town.
If you would have asked me LAST year what was the most time consuming subject I would say math.
History and Science took a close second and that is why I developed Simple Schooling Courses, but math was definitely the thing I hated teaching the most.
Not any more. Because I don't teach it, Teaching Textbooks does. They grade everything for me too - in fact, it is like having a personal math tutor at our beck and call.
There were two things that kept me from switching programs sooner:
- Price - it is pricey, well worth it though
- They didn't have the lower grades that Little Moe needed
Now I can't say for sure when they added those lower grades, but when I went hunting last year for this year's curriculum, there it was. 6th grade.
I will say this though - they run a little slow compared to Singapore and Saxon, so take the placement test and consider jumping ahead a year if necessary. We did - my Little Moe skipped 5th grade entirely after using Saxon 54 in 4th grade and the transition was seamless.
This is the Grand Champion Best In Show Curriculum in my opinion.
Leave Teaching Textbooks and Go To Saxon Math
