So...Which Homeschool Method Will Be Right For You?
Ok, I'll just be honest...I can't tell you which homeschool method will be right for you. I can only provide you with the knowledge to make your best guess. We are all guessers, nothin' wrong with that.
But I will give you some tips to take the stress off...
- You can change your mind at ANY time if you make a mistake. You will lose out on some money if you choose incorrectly, but believe me that is gonna happen anyway. If your method doesn't seem to be working for you, Little Moe says you GOTTA change! It simply makes no sense to continue on with a failing method so go back to the drawing board, think about why your method failed, and apply your new experiences to your next choice.
- DO NOT choose either a method OR a curriculum based on what YOU would do best with. Remember, Little Moe comes first for both methods and curriculum.
- Do not be afraid to go Eclectic and make it all up as you go along. It works just fine.
- Do not be afraid to go Eclectic Traditional, just make sure you choose your curriculum carefully. This can, by far, be the best method for many people. I think I might be an eclectic traditional homeschooler, though I've tried it all.
- Do not be afraid to experiment. That old saying 'We learn from our mistakes" certainly applies to homeschool.
I'd tell you my personal feelings about each one of these, but you don't need that, trust me.
I will only make you second guess yourself - and that is NOT what this is all about.
You need to figure this out and only you can do it. Of course it is always nice to hear general opinions about methods, and that is what I hope I have provided.
I just think getting any more specific than that would be counter-productive.
